The Library currently holds over 4000 items in stock for students to access for homework or their own reading pleasure.
Our stock consists of both fiction and non-fiction books, a range of magazines and some DVDs. Students can access their online ECLIPSE library account in school or at home using their personal log on for more information.
Computer access is also available daily before school, and after school on a Tuesday and Thursday, as well as at break for students to do research or complete their homework.
Mrs Wing actively promotes a lifelong love of reading with the students through various promotions held within the academy.
The Library is open from 8.00am until 2.30pm daily and until 3.30pm on Tuesday and Thursday for Homework Club Enrichment. Students can access the Library as and when they need to on both of these days.

The Library runs and promotes various reading schemes within school and provides support where needed to students and their parents or carers as detailed below.
The Accelerated Reader (AR) scheme encourages Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 students to enjoy reading a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books that are available in the academy library, thereby supporting literacy in all areas of the curriculum.
Library staff and teachers have worked hard in promoting reading and understanding using books and online quizzes to ensure progression in the AR programme.
Students can take quizzes from home once they have finished reading a book by accessing the following website: Accelerated Reader
If you would like any more information regarding this please ring the Academy and ask for either Mrs Wing or Miss Horsefield who will be pleased to answer any queries you may have.
There is a more detailed explanation of Accelerated Reader on our website here.
We have also invested in LEXIA software. For further details please contact Mrs Katharine Barlow, Assistant Headteacher and SENCO.
This scheme is run on a one to one basis between either a trained member of staff or parent and a student known as a partnership. The scheme runs for a total of 10 weeks. The partnership meet 3 times a week for 15 minutes each time. The aim of the scheme is to boost students comprehension and reading ages by giving them a wide range of items to read.
If you wish to take part in this scheme with your child please do not hesitate to contact either Mrs Wing or Mrs Davison, Inclusion Manager.
