Seana Rice

Vice Principal, SENCO - Deep Support.
I started my teaching career in 1996 as an Art teacher at Nunthorpe School. Within a year I became an Assistant Head of Year, and shortly afterwards became Head of Year. In this pastoral role I enjoyed leading the support and guidance of over 250 year group students successfully through their secondary careers. My role was then extended to responsibility for raising standards for Year 11 girls. My passion has always been supporting young people develop skills, knowledge and understanding in preparation for a world of challenges and adventures.
I joined Bydales School in 2005 as Assistant Headteacher, leading the new Technology Specialism, which was later recognised for its contribution to school improvement, in particular through building partnerships. I was promoted to Deputy Headteacher in 2009, gaining my NPQH in 2011 which developed further my skills in leading Teaching & Learning. As a relatively new member of the Outwood family I am excited to be part of an organisation that enables young people to access high quality provision whilst building confidence, self-esteem and ultimately positive engagement. I strongly believe that quality learning in the classroom is central to school improvement. My Art teaching is a great passion that drives me, as is my students' resulting success at GCSE.
